Card Supreme Court Final Verdict

for the private firms asking Aadhar from people. These include firms such as
trail, railway and movie ticket reservation private firms. Earlier, these firms
took aadhar card download from individuals to sell tickets. Once Aadhar is
taken, these are sold to advertising companies that use Aadhar details to
market their product. This is a solid marketing technique because it helps in
targeted marketing and sale of goods and services easily.
Implications
The Court's final verdict has so many implications in the
industry:
1. No private firms can ask for Aadhar from people.
Otherwise, they will face severe penalties from the court.
2. People's personal information will remain secure. There
is a hope that fraudulent activities will reduce significantly and crime level
will also reduce day by day.
3. Advertising companies will not be able to find new
customers using Aadhar details. It means they have to look out for new
opportunities and means to attract customers and make the sale.
4. Finding new customers will definitely involve hiring more
sales and marketing staff which will increase cost of sales.
5. Private firms have to
invest heavily in marketing their products and services. Again, this will cause
a sharp rise in cost of sales. All these additional cost would be transferred
to the end user in the form of rising prices. But keeping in view the privacy
of personal information, it is a plausible decision of the Supreme Court.
